I got to do some painting on a boat this summer!  It was super fun, and then I got to see it sailing all around the lake when I was done. The Revelation is the name of the boat, and it's owned by a Bible Camp in northern Minnesota on Bluewater Lake. This was painted with acrylic house paint, and then covered in a marine spar varnish, so hopefully it holds up to weather conditions.

Every now and then I like to draw a self portrait, if for nothing else than to prove to myself that I still have some life drawing skill.  So this was me from about 1:30 to 1:40 last night.

I don't really know much about calligraphy, other than just messing around and adding stuff, but I have enjoyed playing with it recently. Here's a lettering sketch spelling "Hope."

ps.
for some really AWESOME calligraphy/ street art/ ...art, check out Niels Shoe Meulman, who makes cool lettering.

I recently watched both Judge Dredd movies, and while I was watching, I was doodling.  When I was done, I figured, "Why not just color it? "  So here it is!

A couple pages from my sketchbook; I'll try to keep this one full of worth-while sketches!

A small illustration of the Antarctic. It's a bit washed out on the screen, but in "real life" I wanted to get that feeling of utter cold, which perhaps only those from the Northern Prairies and Antarctica (possibly Siberia) can relate to.

Also, it fascinates me that this is where penguins choose to live.  WHY?

This is just a painting about a cowboy. Some changes from the sketchbook.

This is an illustration of the book Farenheit 451.  In the future firemen burn books because they're illegal, but one fireman isn't buying it.

Refined tattoo for Nick Roen.
